I expected a lot more from this release... The unit pathfinding is disgusting and it's disappointing to see a classic game that I grew up with receive so little attention and care other than the graphics overhaul. I hate the soulless UI btw.

This game has so much potential but after playing AoE2: DE, it feels like a nightmare. I understand that the developers probably wanted to preserve the original experience but I think they could have implemented some of the QOL improvements from AoE2: DE without making people cry.

If someone truly wants the original experience with archaic unit collision and pathfinding (IIRC, it wasn't this bad in the original.), they can always run Win 98 in a VM and play the original version instead.

TL;DR: It's a boomer cash grab and I don't recommend it.

I beautiful remaster of a RTS classic. I just wish they fixed pathmaking and unit hitbox so they wouldn't constantly get stuck between structures.

I don't really recommend this unless it's on a deep sale. Why? Because the sequel now has Return of Rome which has all the content of this game in a better engine, and with a few more campaigns to boot. And in most cases it's cheaper than this game, unless a sale is going on. Even when they're both on sale it's a very minor difference in cash and a chunk of data more because one is a DLC.

I just don't see the point now, unless you can get this game close to free from a key seller or something like that.
