Very good remaster. Recommend the game.

This is my first time ever playing Dragon Quest, so I decided to start with the very first games.

I really enjoyed the stories, especially the second game. They have a lot more charm than I expected, and there are some surprisingly mature moments mixed in that keep things from feeling too childish.
The combat can be pretty tough too. Dragon Quest I was challenging because you're on your own for the whole adventure, but honestly Dragon Quest II gave me even more trouble despite having a full party somehow.

The HD-2D art style won't be for everyone, but I personally loved it, I think it's a nice mix of classic and modern visuals.

The soundtrack is also fantastic and has some really memorable tracks. My only complaint is that some songs, especially the battle music, can get a bit repetitive after a while.
The only thing I'd change regarding this series is making a separate volume slider for the combat music.

Overall, this was a great introduction to the series.

I missed out on this series growing up but really glad they are remaking them in the awesome HD2D graphics
