Hey folks. You probably remember me as Kelp Plankton, the OG Groot Force leader. I wanted to let anyone who potentially still cared know that Marvel Heroes has functional private servers now. They're still WIP, not everything works perfectly, but a lot of the important stuff is back up and running.

Setup is simple, especially for folks who played the game on Steam originally.

People are also posting about progress in the Marvel Heroes thread on SA, which, yes, still exists. It is unlikely any further announcements will be made in this group, so don't worry. I won't be spamming yall, this was just a one-time thing to let people know that they can play the game again. And to thank everyone for all the fun we had back on the live game together.

- Roster now shows the right costume/name for whatever you've got on your hero. plus the team-up that they have actually shows up now

tl;dr:

- ARMOR event is back and improved. there is a mission that grants an Ultimate token you can do once per event, do it 5 times over the course of 5 events and unlock Howard the Duck as a team-up.

- new ARMOR event gear and stuff

- Jean Grey got a big update and is bad now

- Taskmaster's uniques got made gooder

- Toggles now persist across zones and login/logout so that's great

- Magik won the poll because it was secretly a vote for what character is the dumbest

tl;dr:

- Ant-Man is now available. Scott Lang is default, movie costume is alt, classic Hank Pym Enhanced is also there.

- There are no more difficulty modes, story now spans a lv1 to lv60 progression by granting much better rewards.

- Loki and Emma Frost got updated Uniques

- Magik is still winning the poll because you're all shitty idiots with bad taste in voting

- Ant-Man movie comes out tomorrow so go see that.

6/4/2015 Patch: This Birthday Belongs To Doom

tl;dr:

- Doctor Doom has been released! He does as he pleases.

- Toot

- Thing's 52 rework has been completed, though initial impressions are that he needs his damage tuned up some but his new powers are all very fun and cool.

- A wide variety of changes to basically every hero in the game. You'll need to read the patch notes, but everyone got buffed except for Venom and Punisher.

- 25% global increase in Summoned Ally damage. This coupled with the other misc buffs means characters like Rocket and Loki are much more viable, and ones like Squirrel Girl and Iceman got a free dps bump.

- TEAM-UP 2.0! No more passive stat sticks, Team-Ups are now very survivable and very strong. They gain levels and have their own power trees. Use whoever you want on whoever you want! There's bound to be an optimal setup but we don't know it yet.

- Birthday stuff begins now and you will get a ton of free stuff for logging in each week this month, so play a bunch and reap the rewards.

- 10 doctor dooms with doctor doom team-ups and doom herbies, summoning doombots while fighting the doombot wave in cosmic midtown

tl;dr:

- The Avengers are all temporarily part of the starter roster. Enjoy your lv10 Thor.

- Movie Avengers all have a 50% XP bonus.

- Ultrons are in Midtown and ICP

- Hawkeye got some new powers and a rework. Didn't improve by much.

- Black Widow got some new powers and a rework. She's actually worse now than she was before, somehow? Impressive.

- Age of Ultron costumes and an Age of Ultron bundle. These include costumes for Captain America, Thor, Hawkeye, Black Widow, Thor, Hulk, Scarlet Witch, and the Hulkbuster suit for Iron Man.

- There is a second patch coming tomorrow morning.

- Ultron is monitoring your internet history and bookmarking sites he thinks are interesting.

- If you live outside the US and have seen Age of Ultron before me you are now banned from the guild.

tl;dr:

- Easter Something, go beat up stuff, get some stuff, who cares

- NEW RAID wow its a new raid, second raid, raid 2 for me and you. Fight Red Onslaught and some sentinels and shit. Watch a cutscene where characters who aren't playable yet hug Wolverine and Spider-Man

- In the new raid there are daily and weekly quests that give you stuff, and a rep system that they're calling an Influence system, which just confuses me more because Influence is currency you spend on changing your costumes and buying IOs at wentworths okay????? okay

- Artifacts now have Starktech Power Cube Slots to be upgraded with stuff. Some crafting thing. +1 to Hard As Rock BIS

- fixed some bugs? ? i dunno?

- spider-girl and punisher-girl costumes in store

- im hungry

tl;dr:

- She-Hulk is now available. You can play as her while using the She-Hulk team-up. A family is two She-Hulks and a surprise witness.

- Invisible Woman got a retooling. Is she good? I dunno. Can she use herself as a team-up? Nope.

- Cosmic Patrol Zones are here. Midtown and ICP. Harder than usual and double the chance for boss-specific loot drops.

- Big 10 is over but the Cosmic Chaos event lingers on like the smell of a rotting corpse after the body's been removed from the crime scene.

- Krypto the Super-Dog has been added as a playable champion in hit DC Universe MOBA Infinite Crisis, a game where Superman beats his own dog and teenage cousin to death because winning is all that truly matters.
