-| A New Approach: Part 2 |-

After much consideration, I have come to the conclusion that we may include other realms as well. My problem with this is that there will be some realms that will be able to do as they please, because of their size in comparison to some other minor realms. Good examples would be France, Spain, England, Hungary, Poland, and so forth. I personally think that if we only take with us those nations to the west, and not the ones to the east, we will already fix a lot of over-powered nation problems. The eastern ones are too large in comparison to the majority of countries in the west, during this period. So, in addition to the German-speaking lands, we will include the following areas: Italy, France, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg (was supposed to be included anyway), Spain and Portugal, and perhaps Denmark and/or Sweden, and/or England.

In addition to this, the military was questioned by one of my fellow administrators, and I will elaborate on that matter as well. Most German-speaking realms consist of 1/2/3 province(s), so 3-6 regiments would not be weird, because regiments in real-life consist of more than 120/160 men. So, some 2,000 troops x 3-6 regiments = 6,000 troops-12,000 troops. So, the military is merely minimised. And 12,000 troops is not little for a country that consists only of six provinces.

And last but not least: Yes, there will be a "lot" of rules, because just putting the rule "Be reasonable" up, doesn't help. In my opinion, it's not a lot of rules, but to those who wish (demand) to role-play freely, and do whatever they want, although it makes no sense or whatsoever (sorry, but that is my opinion 'bout it), there would be a lot of rules, yes: A strict military and economy. The role-play is designed to be role-play friendly, and by making a "game" out of it, it becomes ten times as attractive. The problem that we constantly face is that we have new role-players coming that have no idea what they're doing, then being thrown around by somewhat more experienced role-players, and then end up leaving. We need something that has simple rules (yes, the rules that would go with this "tier" would be simple, but there would be many, according to many of you...), but yet give the freedom to shape one's country however one wishes to throughout the role-play, without people being able to bend around the rules, or dominate everything because they were lucky enough to start off with the biggest nation. My goal is to make the role-play fun, despite having to be one of the biggest nations around to have fun.

~ Rhen

-| A New Approach |-

For a very long time now, we've seen the same problems pop right back up again every single time an organisation decides to create some sort of a tier. Bad rules, too few rules, too many rules, admin abuse, and so forth, are arguments that are constantly brought forward every single time someone tries to gather all role-players. Disagreement can only occur if there is open space. Instead of trying the same thing, but using a different organisation, I would like to propose something completely different; a different sort of role-play.

My intention is to make the role-play that we so much enjoy, more cooperative and user-friendly, as if the role-play was a game. I will strip away anything that I consider to be useless, and set new rules for this different type of role-play.

Insight into this new type of role-play
I have long thought about this question, but finally come to the conclusion that it is best if we, with the numbers that we momentarily have, keep it small.

I suggest that we role-play during the time of the Holy Roman Empire (HRE), as most role-players find German-speaking lands (not Germany) interesting, and stick to the many independent realms that existed back then.

Every role-player will either be appointed to a nation, or may choose a nation (still up for consideration) and all role-playing will take part in just ONE group. This means, unlike the current system that we have, you lead one-man "groups" (nations). The sovereign (you) is also the military commander, meaning that one has to fight one's own battles. So, you lead your own nation's diplomacy and military. This also means that the demands for being able to take part are lower, because you don't need a 1,000 man group and 20 active administrators, which would make it easier for newcomers to quickly intergrate into the new system. However, this does mean that there will be no focus on elections or political problems that may occur within your nation's borders, just diplomacy and military action.

By now you might think this is nothing for me "I'm not a general, I'm a politician, this is bullshit :(", but most nations will only control between 3-6 regiments, making it very easy to participate in battles. The same goes for nations that have coasts, some 2-4 ships for those nations. A simple economy will be created to make sure that nations can't just build huge armies and navies, and keep everything basically balanced.

If you have any further questions; feel free to contact me personally.

So, yeah, I'd like to hear what people think about it, so comment about it below!

~ Rhen

-| Unexpected Absence |-

Due to unforeseen circumstances I am forced to take an indefinite leave of absence. During my absence, Rhen (a.k.a. Guequierre) will head up the movement alongside Nicholas and Quinlan. You all know our objectives and I ask that you remain committed to them while I am gone. I hope to return soon, please continue making progress! Au revoir mes amis!

-| A Different Proposal |-

Well gentlemen I'm certain you are all wondering exactly what we plan to do after we've retaken the community. Naturally we'll establish a new organization, however this one will not be like its predecessors though. CoN and AWN were/are governing bodies centered around the group owners, the new organization will be by, of and for all role-players. In the new organization there will be no permanent positions, no "Overseers" or "Enforcers"; the group owner will refrain from exerting any degree of authority unless he holds a position within the organization. Elections for the new, bicameral organization will take place frequently, although term limits will be instituted in order to keep any group or individual from becoming too powerful. Similar to its predecessors, the new organization will have three branches, executive (Secretary-General), legislative (Community Council and General Assembly) and judiciary (Supreme Court). There will also be security officers in order to protect the organization and its members from spam, and to ensure fair conduct between the members. The greatest contrast the new organization will provide, is that it will be a mediating body not a government, we would only establish the rules necessary to ensure fair conduct between groups (e.g. war). Groups also wouldn't be forced to decide between joining a Tier or role-playing on their own, Tiers would be made for those who desire them and we would provide the tools necessary to manage them efficiently. Again I cannot reiterate enough that it would not be a governing body, it would be dedicated to moderating the community.

Please provide your thoughts and comments below. Thank you!

-| Welcome to the Movement |-

Gentlemen, I'm certain that you are wondering why you have been called here; allow me to shed some light on the subject. Yesterday evening Nicholas and I were discussing the current state of affairs within the community, lamenting the debilitated state it is in. That is when we decided to do something about it, and what better way to restore the community than for its old leaders to return? Therefore we established the Reactionary Movement as a means of dismantling the current pretentious upstarts. Once we've successfully dismantled these failed attempts, we can begin construction on a new order. It is for the good of the community!
