On Tuesday, June 2nd at 4:00 PM ET, the Kickstarter will launch for Tex Murphy: Killing Moon Rising, a full remake of the 1994 classic, Under a Killing Moon!

The remake will feature:

Recreated 3D ray traced graphics
Additional environments to explore
Modern controls
Enhanced gameplay
Remastered music
Dramatically upgraded HD FMV scenes
All while staying faithful to the original experience!

This project is being created with the support of Big Finish Games, Chris Jones, Aaron Conners, Doug Vandegrift, Mat Van Rhoon, and the incredibly talented Yuval Dorfman!

Tex Murphy and the Steakhouse Stakeout: An Interactive Adventure Released!

Tex Murphy author Aaron Conners has released another novel in the Tex Murphy series: Tex Murphy and the Steakhouse Stakeout: An Interactive Adventure! This novel takes place in June 2043 on the night before Tex goes on a dinner date with Chelsee at the Golden Pagoda. It is the small job that Tex goes on in chapter 10 of Romanov Enigma, making Steakhouse Stakeout kind of like beef wellington or chicken cordon bleu, or like a novel within a novel!

Steakhouse Stakeout: An Interactive Adventure is the first Tex Murphy novel that is interactive! It is in the style of a Choose Your Own Adventure book! Readers are given choices on what direction they want to take the story in. There are over 100 paths, 70 endings, and one perfect ending.

"For Tex Murphy, the last of the old-school P.I.s, good paying jobs are like a properly prepared steak: medium rare. So when he’s hired under mysterious circumstances to stake out a steakhouse, he ignores a whole parade of red flags and takes the case.

The job sounds easy enough: wait for the client to show up for a meeting, watch what happens, be ready to step in if things don't go 'as planned'. There are just a few minor concerns. Tex hasn’t met the client and has no way to contact her. She didn’t tell him who she’s meeting or why. And what exactly does ‘as planned’ mean? Oh, and she told him to bring a gun…and he’s fresh out of guns.

Tex Murphy Radio Theater Part Two Released!

All six episodes of Tex Murphy Radio Theater Part Two were released during the last six weeks of 2022! They can be listened to for free on YouTube! Part Two takes place two months after The Pandora Directive, and a few days before Overseer. The total running time is about an hour and 21 minutes, with each episode being about 14 minutes on average.

A 25th Anniversary edition of The Pandora Directive has been announced by Big Finish Games! The Pandora Directive is what many fans regard to be the best Tex game ever!

If completed, this remake will include a remastering of all of the FMV, music, voices, sounds, and 3D environments. It would be a faithful remake, but feature a modern interface and controls. Using the original source tapes, the cinematics can be reprocessed to smooth, 8K HD video using machine learning. BFG wrote that "Our goal is to take what we believe is an already amazing game and scale it up to modern standards while preserving the soul of the original game".

A documentary covering the production of Tesla Effect was in the original plans during the Kickstarter days for Project Fedora. The scope of that documentary has expanded to become a 45 minute documentary covering the complete history of Tex Murphy, and is entitled The Making of Tex Murphy!

After the documentary, there will be a live Q&A session with the developers of the next Tex game, The Poisoned Pawn, which will be the 7th game in the Tex Murphy series! Series writer Aaron Conners will also be present to answer any questions that fans may have. Additionally, Aaron is also writing a Poisoned Pawn novel, as well as two additional Tex Murphy novels on top of that!
