May admins

The may admins have been finalized thanks to donations from the following players:

● StormReaper (double donation)

The new admins will be in effect from the 13th.

StormReaper's double donation will rollover into a contribution towards next months costs and thus automatically extend his time as admin into the following month, the same way that ISeeDedPpl's donation has this month from his double donation last month.

MrThompson has now been an admin for 6 consecutive months! As one might expect, he is now a very experienced admin who is familiar with all of the Boontex policies, history and so forth. If I am not available to handle an issue, chances are that MrThompson will be able to help. He also has the power to update the server if an update is released by Valve.

Boontex community phase one roll-out

The Boontex community has unofficially launched! This is phase one of a three-step roll-out process. For now, please understand that only admins are to sign up and use the community forum at this time. After the admins have had a chance to sign up and test the forum for a few days, the community will be rolled out to regs in phase two and then finally the official launch will be rolled out in phase three to the rest of the community.

Take this chance to get to know the forum and post some suggestions if you have any. Register now and grab some low id numbers!

Once again, this is for admins only at this time, so you shouldn't post any links to other users. Please request the URL from me at your earliest convenience. Don't forget to let me know when you've created your account so that I can add you to the admin group on the forum for "sekret forum axxess"!

I feel that this log file speaks for itself. After already suspecting a breach in the trust given to admins over the use of RCON, it is clear that the password has indeed been shared with non-admins.

No further news at this time, pending further investigation.

Nextlevel command is buggy

The still fairly new, nextlevel command, is a buggy bugger. It will ensure that the map that is loaded next is the one specified, but it will also cause the map to change at the end of the current round, instead of respecting the victory conditions. For this reason, setting the nextlevel command at the start of a map should be avoided, since it will change the map prematurely.

The nextlevel command also does not verify that the map name that you enter actually exists, so be sure to spell correctly!

Welcome ISeeDedPpl who rejoins us again as Boontex admin in March!

Karlse and Winckle have stepped down for this month but both suggest that they may donate again in the near future. We thank them for their time and donations thus far.

Server update delegation

It is now possible for me to create user accounts on KC's new game control panel which can allow other admins to update the server. Before the introduction of this game panel even I could not update the server; I had to ask the staff to do it.

If you require the ability to update the server when a server patch is released, I can now create an account for you so that we spend less time with an out of date server waiting for someone with the necessary privileges to take care of the situation.
