The beta and release wasn't good, but I feel like the devs did redeem themselves and listens to the constructive feedback the community is giving them.

TLDR; Once you get the grip at the game and the changes versus KF2 and KF1, you do begin to appreciate the differences. Please try it and see for yourself!

First and foremost, it does support Linux well, Bazzite on my end.

The matches are fun and perfectly gory and glorious.
The feeling of the weapons, and their firepower, are fun.
The perk system and the weapon upgrade system are actually good and more complex than the last KF, which give more room for more builds for all classes.
The graphics are very good and adds to the overall dark atmosphere of the game.

At first, I was skeptical of the weapon system; it's fundamentaly different from KF1 and KF2.
You need to craft attachment, and upgrade them, to prepare weapon loadouts to be bought during matches. You need resources which are retrieved during missions, so you can't just create any layouts at first, and some attachments are locked behind levels.
Ressources are plentiful, even for the "premium cosmetics", tho you need to buy the dlc's.
I feel like the ressources you gain are gracefuly balanced with the progression of your build/perk.

I'm pretty sure tho that it's a contraversial change, as you can't upgrade weapons during matches as you could before; you depend on 3 "random" given loadout for each weapons (loadouts are generated at the start of the match), or you create / craft your own beforehand.

The price of the weapons depend of the gadgets / attachments they have.
When you craft an attachment / gadget, you need to craft 1 iteration per weapon, tho it's swappable if not attached.

The map rollout is ok, tho not comparable to KF2. I can't complain for now I haven't played enough to be tired of the maps.
Do not expect as much content (maps/weapons/skins) as in KF2, but it will come as it did with KF2.

Some people says the animations and/or the game feels janky, but I don't feel it's the case on my end, except for "finishing moves" which can be awkard during giga fights, or bosses with the environment.

The way the syringe is limited and the welder/multitool not included in all classes is another subject of controversy, but it makes teamwork more important. Rounds are not eternal anymore with someone running arround with only pistol ammo healing himself continuously and cheesing a bunch of fleshpounds.
That being said, you can now resupply during rounds (only buying ammo) and medics can drop syringe refills for everyone.

As cozy as anxiety inducing. Just enough tho.
Very fun game, even more if you like "Lovecraftian" lore and atmosphere.

One of my favorite game, it's a steal for its current pricing!

Very fun relaxing game.

Easy to play, hard to master.

Remind me of surf in Counter-Strike, but it's not exactly the same.

There are some other added gimmick like bounce, bubbles and "Tornados", but some of them kinda breaks the momentum of some runs. May be because I don't fully master the concepts tho.

Worth a try for the price, or the demo!

Technical Cons ;
**Supports 21:9 but not 32:9 without stretching the image.**

**EDIT**
32:9 support has been added :). Thanks Dev!

If you liked the OG BF1942, you'll like Easy Red 2.

Very nice if you don't have much time to play in your week and hate PVP.
Gun customisation is fun and immersion is good.
Actively in developpment with frequent update.

I'm confident with the update roadmap.

The game is cheap, but except the core gameplay, there's still not much content on the long run.

Really good remastered version of the game with some gameplay QOL fixes vs. the original game.
Would recommend for nostalgic values and/or if you loved Skyrim.
The remastered version is a UE5 Engine wrap over the original game engine, so you still have the same derpiness from the original versions, which is a plus on my end!

I did NOT have any game breaking / quest breaking bugs.

The downside is that the game seems to become unstable the bigger the savefile become and seems to crash very often when menuing / fast travelling / loading zones faster than the original engine is able to support. Thank god for the autosaves, and disabling autosaves does not fix the issue btw.

IT FULLY SUPPORT ULTRAWIDE MONITORS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm able to run 120 locked FPS with 7800X3D and 9070XT all at high, including RT, on 5120x1440 with FSR4 Quality, which is really awesome. UE5 is still kinda not super optimized, but there are some engine.ini tweaks out there to enable better multi-thread support and make the game stutter much less and load faster. There's no "easy" way to clear shader cache, which is unfortunate and might be part of the unstability issue.

The graphics are really incredible and the Cyrodill, and its content, are beautiful in UE5

Beware that Steam Cloud Save does not backup the right folder if OneDrive Backups are enabled; the correct folder is "C:\Users\%USERNAME%\Documents\My Games\Oblivion Remastered" as Steam backups "C:\Users\%USERNAME%\OneDrive\Documents\My Games\Oblivion Remastered" once OneDrive Backups are enabled. Please copy the files once in a while so you don't loose hundreds of hours.

The story and the graphics are compelling, well optimized for the latter. I don't care there's no FSR/DLSS on my end, I never enable it.
The universe is gorgeous in itself.

However, the combat needs serious rework as it's junky, you can't block attack, the attacks have little feedback so it seems like you're hitting a rock. The combat is simply not fun. That's what ruined it for me, which is a bummer as it had all the ingredients to a great game.

Looks like hunt showdown, but without the pvp element. It's a very good premise, but it fails to deliver in the current game state.

The immersion is very, very good but the combat is not polished enough to be satisfying and enjoyable. It is to a point where you try to avoid or cheese a combat sequence not because you want to keep your ressources / health, but because it's not enjoyable at all.

I understand how the game is sold to be hard, which is OK it might be one way to support cooperation, but a game shouldn't be hard because of quantum hitbox that may or may not exist and zombies that are so tanky, I lost count of how many hammer hit in the head it can take.

The map is pretty big and there's alot to see. The way the game plays, you shouldn't visit the entire map in one session as it's seperated by "areas" and "objectives" so the game kind of route your way to the centre of the map.

I can't recommend the game as of now. I will be watching the development hoping to watch a stone turn into a diamond, or sand.

It might be like Starship Troopers which turned out to be very good.

State of the game, as August 2024, is very good.
Cheap fun coop pve game that is fun to come back from time to time.
Great community.
Lot more stable and optimised than it was.
The game and graphics are much more polished too.

The devs are working hard and it shows.
