Cute and there are a few harder to find but it's manageable (base game only).

Coming from someone who never played this one back when it was current, this is a cute throwback. The game is straightforward and not too complex regarding mechanics. However the maps are small and there is no quality of life elements that even some older games, like AOE1, had which is the main difficulty. It takes some getting used to. After less than 2h, you'll probably good to go at least for reasonable challenges.

The little videos, the menus, the voices are quirky and a really kitsch throwback. The music is a bit repetitive but that's common and it's still rather nice.

The game is worth it on sale just for these and also if you really enjoy this type of games since it's absolutely playable as far a modern hardware and mechhanics go.

If you're a new player and have no other dlc then it's a good addon as remagen is a very nice map and included in there. Maybe get it on a regular sale because Caen isn't as good.

I'll be reviewing alone Caen here.
The map is okay, not the best and not the worst. It's a bit glitchy, I did fall through the ground and had to time perfectly the "unstuck" function to respaw above ground. There is also some weirdly explosive physics going on everything flies away. I think someone lowered the in game gravity and didn't test it. This was never an issue with the main game. Actually I never had any issue, except on this map.

The church part is interesting but it shows that the map wasn't thought through like the rest of the game because it's really fiddly to accomplish. But overall it does work.

However, this wouldn't grant a negative review. What does is, as most other have mentioned, they went the enshittification way and actually removed previous content to repackage it and resell it.
If you're a not new player and already had the remagen dlc, it's really not worth the price (as a % of the full game price, not as a specific amount), especially since the quality is much lower. Maybe wait for a very deep sale.

What could have helped is if they at least finally swapped the texture of the npc's that are still somehow straight from a medieval asset pack. Get an AI to do it, nobody will know anyway. Even in one of the Caen cutscene, there's a literal court jester hiding from a german tank....

They should allow custom content or work with modders to sell more and higher quality content. This way everyone wins. They get a share, the modders get a share, steam gets some as well, the players get entertaining stuff to clean.
Anything but cutting off previous content and reselling it. Boo.

Short and simple. The drawings are nice. Good for achievement farmers or kids. Maybe as time waster but it's very short without DLC (<10min).

I wanted to try this one after playing and enjoying WW2 rebuilder. This game however isn't as good at all.

First, from the first couple minutes of the tutorial, you're greeted with a bug that seems common but was never fixed. So you'd think going straight to the first mission would be a good choice. Nope. The only good part is that you might be welcomed by some other glitches. At least there's some variety in that regard.

I must admit that I saw this coming when I tried to re-bind some keys and it didn't work properly, as some keys have multiple functions and re-binding only affects one of them making the controls completely whack. In my experience, this is the only red flag needed to evaluate the care given to a game.

This is even more frustrating that some of these abandonwares have good ideas inside. In this one, you can collect a set of model trains and you have your own model to toy with. This would make a good game in itself alone. Anyway.

The only trash I picked up, in the end, is the game. Even on sale, I wouldn't bother unless you're really craving pain.
But then please contact me so you can come clean my place for free, at least it's useful.

This game is interesting. The mechanics are fun and there is a lot of creativity. It's also extremely simple and perfect for little kids or as a time waster. There is also much more content than I expected, from the comments I read before buying.

However, the game feels like it was completed as a viable product and then abandoned.
There are little details here and there, mostly UI, that feels like they needed more polish. Controls can't be customized as well, which is usually a sign of hit and run. There is no difficulty setting. Nothing to go beyond the base gameplay, which is rather simple. Once you figured how the money mechanics work, you will not fail or have a challenge, except fot the whacky levels such as building a city on a rope or bike pedals.

It's really a shame because the game is stable and there is no glitch despite the whacky stuff going on. It could have benefitted from being open to workshop content or more development. It could have been pretty amazing thanks to the childish theme and creativity.

So all in all, try it if you love building stuff with blocks and don't seek any real challenge. But also get it on deep sale.

If you have tried the smaller versions with only 1 city, this one is the same but with a lot more content. Everything took me a bit less than 2h.
There are main maps which very similar to the other games but there are bonus levels as well with a very interesting and cartoonish art style. It's nice that they were added as bonus. You need to complete the main maps to unlock the bonus ones.

Some maps are harder, some are easier and some have pretty hard to find cats. Some require to really zoom in, which isn't always required but some cats make you look harder to find them.
There aren't a lot of bonus interactions. 1 per map but they unlock a achievement.

This isn't a hard game but it's still cute and a nice hidden object game to kill time. I finished it all in 15min with 1 hint. There are 2 special achievements that are a nice innovation from the other games.

There are hidden clickable objects to get animations, music and sound. Unlocking everything doesn't give access to a hidden map like with cats in china but it unlocks timer mode. There is no list of every bonus objects but you should find them all since one achievements is unlocked that way. The music and sounds are nice.
The game saves your progress so you can leave and come back later without starting from 0.

This one is one of the bigger an with more bonus items than others. I finished it all in 30min with a couple hints. The cats are hidden in a more "realistic" way in this one so it balances the more difficult map.
