skator gator 3d is a bite-sized game, but is worth every penny.

An absolutely lovely little game. Hosted a small book club-style event with this game on my Discord. Loved the visuals and soundtrack. A bit linear to me and there were a few changes I'd like to see for the game, but a very fun and interesting mini metroidvania for an absolute bargain.

Haiku, the Robot wears it's inspiration on it's sleeve, but it is very clear how much time, energy, and passion Mister Morris put into making this game a reality.

This game, like most metroidvanias released in the past few years, is heavily inspired by Hollow Knight. Hollow Knight really changed a lot for the metroidvania formula. Primarily bringing in souls-like elements and the badge system from the Paper Mario series, that are now commonplace among the gems of this genre. This game has both of these elements as well.

One of the key mechanics in this game is the heat gauge. The heat gauge is used to limit how many abilities you can do in a given time frame, though there are numerous ways to use more abilities in a short window with various chips or upgrades found throughout the world.

As for souls-like elements, one of the early abilities is the adjustable wrench (found almost directly at the start) and this gives you the ability to heal. Healing requires you to use spare parts, which are also the games currency, so you need to be careful to not take too much damage or else you go broke. Similarly, if you die at any point, you will lose half of your spare parts, though you can go retrieve them by going back to where you died.

The game is absolutely gorgeous, featuring a beautiful pixel art and a unique color palette for each area, which is both minimalistic and detailed.

If you are fan of metroidvanias, 2D games, or just love excellent world-building and pixel art, I highly recommend this game to you.

As a speedrunner, I am looking forward to playing this game again numerous times and seeing how fast I can beat this.

Honestly, not the worst, but definitely not great. Im typically not fond of precision platformers that have infinite jumps. The boss fights were difficult to even understand what I was supposed to be doing. The levels were too much of the same and though maybe I am spoiled by better games of this genre like Celeste or Super Meat Boy, this one feels a bit too much like a fossil. Unlike what the Backlogasaurus achievement asks, it is better to let this go extinct in the backlog

This game is very cute and fun. There is also a decent amount of bonus content, including a better ending that is found by exploring and getting items. Overall, very fun experience and I would definitely recommend this game. :D
