I don't know what game everyone else was playing, but it can't possibly be the game I am trying to play.

What the hell even is the main game loop here? Building workbenches??

Early Access Review
Really fun roguelike, where finding the right gear combination is crucial, but adds a lot of strategy. Being in early access, the game is still changing and evolving to a degree, but it's still very worth playing in it's current state.

Really cool idea, but severely lacking in content and polish. It has all the workings of a fully functional game, but it does not go even a single step beyond that. The level design is especially bland. The difficulty comes almost entirely from blind jumps requiring quick reactions to figure out where you are trying to go before falling in lava/spikes/traps, and bosses that spam attacks to the point of it becoming a bullet hell. Also, if you don't already have some programming experience, you might struggle in coding any decent spells too, as the tutorial is very bare bones as well. Once you get enough code blocks and come up with a powerful spell, however, bosses become a breeze as you spam attacks right back at them.

The art is decent, music is pretty good, I just wish they would have taken a good bit more time to really flesh out and polish these ideas before deciding it was ready for public release.

It's a single, tiny level and you have infinite ammo to mow down the spawning skeletons. The only thing remotely resembling game play is the need to not get touched by any of the skeletons, or else you'll die instantly.

Visually, it looks decent enough, but it is, at best, a prototype. And not even a prototype that does anything of interest. This is someones VERY early attempt at learning to make a video game, and should never have been put up for sale. Even if it were completely free, it still wouldn't really be worth playing unless you knew the guy who made it.

Vampire Survivors meets Diablo, and then some! Halls of Torment brings it's own take to the action roguelike genre, with plenty of content to keep you hooked. Play it!

"Time lays waste to all things, but I shall fight it as long as I can." - The Nameless One

I've never been a D&D guy or a CRPG guy, and there are some things I would have preferred to have been more streamlined, but Planscape: Torment really hooked me. Highly recommend.
