I COMPLETED THE GAME IN 95 HOURS BUT I REGRET NOT MAXING ALL MY CONFIDANTS, BECAUSE NOW I MISS EACH AND EVERY ONE OF THEM.

Persona 5 Royal was my first Japanese RPG, and all I can say is: wow, wow, wow.

What impressed me most was the incredible depth of the game. At its core, Persona 5 Royal is about friendship and the connections you build with other people. If you don't enjoy reading dialogue, this probably isn't the game for you. But for me, all of that character development is exactly what made the experience so immersive. The relationships feel surprisingly fresh and most major characters are interesting in their own way.

I genuinely struggled to put this game down and ended up spending far more hours on it than I originally intended. The gameplay loop is incredibly addictive. Once you start playing, real-life time passes incredibly fast. The game encourages you to carefully manage your in-game days and take your time, but before you know it, you've spent hours completely immersed in its world.

For new players, my biggest recommendation is: don't look up too much online. There are spoilers everywhere, and the game is clearly designed to be explored at your own pace. The freedom to make your own choices is a huge part of its charm. You don't need to min-max everything to finish the game, although it's possible to miss some bonus content if you make certain decisions along the way.

Another thing that deserves special praise is the soundtrack. It's absolutely fantastic. I downloaded it after finishing the game and still listen to it regularly.

A fair warning: this is a very long game and that won't appeal to everyone. The story was surprisingly good, written from the perspective of teenagers while still being engaging and relatable for adults like myself. And when it all comes together, the payoff feels earned. After spending so much time with these characters and sharing so many experiences with them, saying goodbye is genuinely bittersweet.

One of the best gaming experiences I've had.
