Is this considered a flop? Still seeing that ambitious $39.99 price tag which could also explain low sales numbers. What went wrong?

Before Grendizer there was Mazinger Z and Great Mazinger, both series are SUPERIOR to Grendizer, better plot, better Antagonists, and more importantly Koji wasn't made a Joke character like he is Grandizer, in fact this was a mandate by TOEI and Go Nagai wasn't in agreement with this decision to include Koji and let alone make him the joke he was in this series. The reason for Grendizer to be so popular in French-speaking countries and Arab countries is because they SKIPPED showing Mazinger Z and Great Maz...

I keep getting stuck after completing TOKYO TOWER. I can’t proceed or do anything. Grendizer just keeps standing there.

Never heard of Grendizer before... Though I wouldn't miss an episode of GOLDORAK when I was a kitten. Yep, that's what it was called in France (and Italy, I believe). Any other foreign name for this japanese character?
