i want to give this a good review, but it bothers me so i cant.

Houses and buildings are even distributions of grid space. sounds good right? wrong, this makes them highly incompatible with organization alongside roads, everything i make looks messy and highly congested.

it infuriates me to the point of giving up and closing the game, and so i just cant recommend it.

I was hoping to enjoy this game but why in the world would you design the first few levels to take so long to beat when you're not even learning anything for 99% of it? You're barely allowed to build anything and it takes an unnecessarily long amount of time to reach the production goal where all you're doing is sitting there at 3x speed waiting. If it had 10x speed or let you skip to having most of the unlocks maybe it would be a recommend but as it is I just don't see a compelling reason to put the time commitment in to getting to later levels.

I kinda enjoy this game. It's something I boot up sometimes. But it has problems.

Namely that it's so incredibly slow. Even on the fastest game speed, it takes a painfully long time to rank up and unlock new buildings, which is of course felt most acutely at the very beginning of the game when you have to farm apples and water to get your population to 100 and unlock the first new buildings. An inability to build any storage infrastructure in this stage means its mostly spent waiting for your houses to need more stuff so that it can be filled. There are tons of moments like this throughout the game's progression.
