Above is a link to the Escapist Magazine 2010 March Mayhem Video Game Developer Showdown. It is currently in the semi-finals, with Valve Software vs Zynga and Blizzard Entertainment vs Bioware. This sounds like pretty good pairings; all great companies, right? WRONG! Whats that second one there? Zynga?!?

Zynga is the company that mass produces Facebook time-wasters like Mafia Wars and Farmville. They are a company who's CEO has admitted on video that their business was fundamentally built on scamming their customers. Somehow, they have managed to make it this far, and as of yet, they are pulling ahead of Valve by 50 votes.

This is Valve we are talking about here. The company that practically created First Person Shooters with Counter Strike. The company that revolutionized active team game-play with Team Fortress. Few games before Half Life had managed to retell such a gripping and amazing narrative; Half Life 2 is no less, and won countless Game of the Year awards upon its release years ago. Did you enjoy the gripping adventures down dark corridors in Left 4 Dead? How about the THREE YEARS of FREE UPDATES Valve has provided for loyal Team Fortress Two customers?

I am not requesting you to do anything. I am only bringing to light what many people here may not know. If you care about this kind of thing, then I ask you to take 60 seconds out of your time here and follow that link. Show the world that games like Half Life are why video games are an art, and Farmville is just a business.
