Good game but I lost a cryo run to cartoonishly awful desync so you're getting a negative review

I wanna make it clear. I am definitely not playing this in an optimal way. I am using my Steam Deck, setting the Max FPS to 30 and using a very low resolution. That being said, I think it just goes to show how damn good this game is that even with these limitations, I am having the time of my life on Hurt Me Plenty. This game is just as good, if not better, than 2016 and Eternal, and the combat is extremely satisfying. Everything in the game is flawless, the soundtrack, the combat, the story, all of it. If you've played 2016 and Eternal, find a way to play this game. You will NOT regret it.

UPDATE: After the somewhat recent Steam Deck update, the game runs much better on it now. Still 30 FPS max but no longer does the resolution or framerate dip, even in cutscenes. Replaying the game was so much fun, and I'm glad they took the time to make it work much better on the deck. id once again proves themselves as the kings of optimization.

If you played the original game on the Wii like I did, then you already know its a masterpiece. However, Purple Lamp has gone above and beyond with this remake, and I can certainly say its better than the original. Music has been left untouched. Graphics are far better. Areas have been modified from the original and expanded. The NPCs are more expressive and interesting. The new moves are all useful. Small quality of life changes have been made to make the game's pacing faster. Even a few of the animated cutscenes are tonally different, like the thinner disaster cutscene. Bugs and glitches are far and few between. All around it is everything I have ever wanted from a remake and more. If you have played the original, and are still thinking about whether or not to spend $60 on this, let me just say: You can finally enter the theater. Need I say more? Buy it.
